A chilling tale of forgotten memories and ancient evils resurfacing. Hereward, a guide plagued by amnesia and haunted by fragmented visions, undertakes a perilous journey with the scholar Eadric. Their quest for historical texts in the ruins of Amon Sûl unearths a conspiracy far older and more sinister than the recent war. As they travel through lands scarred by conflict and plagued by unnatural phenomena, Hereward must confront the ghosts of his past to stop a lingering malevolence from consuming the fragile peace.

The Road from Bree

Eadric and Hereward arrive at the desolate heights of Amon Sûl (Weathertop). The atmosphere is immediately oppressive, thick with unnatural silence. While Eadric begins to study the ruins' ancient, familiar runes for magical resonance, Hereward is overwhelmed by a sudden, visceral sensory assault: the scent of ozone and burnt wool, accompanied by a blinding vision of a crimson banner dissolving in black fire and the echoing screams of those who bore witness. He snaps back, disoriented, just as Eadric points out the disturbing discovery: not just old carvings, but fresh, wet glyphs—symbols of binding and sacrifice—etched deep into the stone base of the tower, still faintly warm to the touch, indicating the ritual was completed within the last night.
